Webinar series Patient Safety
Module 2: Safe Surgery
Checklists alone do not make a safe operating theatre
Checklists are an important component of modern patient safety – but on their own they do not prevent errors. What matters is how teams work together, share information and take responsibility. Where communication ends, risk often begins.
Aim of the webinar
This webinar shows why safety measures only take full effect when they are supported by a safety culture that is actually lived. Using typical challenges in the operating theatre, you will get to know practical approaches for improving collaboration, communication and workflows for the long term.
What to expect
- Why safety bureaucracy alone is not enough
- Recognising and overcoming silo thinking
- Using briefings and checklists effectively
- Improving planning, communication and the flow of information
Who the webinar is for
For physicians from all surgical specialties, theatre nurses, anaesthesia teams, as well as managers and staff from quality and risk management who want to strengthen safety and collaboration in the operating theatre for the long term.
